Job Overview:

We are looking for a dedicated Child Care Center Substitute Director to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in early childhood education, excellent leadership skills, and a genuine passion for working with young children. This role involves managing the daily operations of the preschool, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality Montessori-hybrid program, and teaching a classroom of preschool-aged children.

Responsibilities:

· Oversee the daily operations of the preschool, ensuring a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment.

· Develop and implement curriculum and educational programs following Montessori-inspired guidelines.

· Lead, mentor, and support a team of teachers and staff, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.

· Manage enrollment, parent communication, and school events.

· Ensure compliance with licensing regulations and maintain high standards of care and education.

· Regularly assess the inventory of supplies, schedule repairs, and maintain the cleanliness of the school.

Qualifications (all required):

· 12 core semester units early childhood education/development

· 3 semester units in Administration or Staff Relations

· Minimum of 4 years teaching experience in a supervised group Child Care Center

Alternative Qualifications (any one required):

1. A degree in child development, 3 units Administration and 2 years teaching experience.

2. BA degree in child development, 3 units Administration and 1 year teaching experience.

3. Child Development Site Supervisor Permit or Program Director Permit

Other Qualifications (good to have):

· Strong knowledge of early childhood development principles and practices.

· Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

· Ability to create a warm, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children.

· CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

· Montessori experience preferred.

· Available for an 8-hour shift between the school hours of 7 am to 6 pm.
